StreetlampHistory & Culture
From a grant purchased from the Free Society of Traders in 1724 to the crossroad between two major Bucks County roads, Doylestown has developed into a vital, dynamic community. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the historic architecture, friendly atmosphere, numerous restaurants, quaint sidewalk cafes, and unique shops as they stroll along sidewalks lined with brick pavers and reproduction Victorian street lamps.  William Doyle's 18th Century Inn, founded at the intersection of the Philadelphia to Easton , and Swedsford to Coryell's Ferry roads, was the seed that bloomed into the town now known as Doylestown.
